A US-Swiss Jungian psychoanalyst living near Z\u00fcrich, Switzerland, I work with adults in private practice, locally and online. I am an IAAP-accredited analyst and faculty member at the C. G. Jung Institute Z\u00fcrich-K\u00fcsnacht, where I teach, serve on the Board of Training, and curate its Picture Archive of pictures primarily by analytic patients of C. G. Jung. I have also worked as a Jungian analyst with international MBA candidates at IMD in Lausanne and serve on the boards of the Foundation C. G. Jung K\u00fcsnacht (C. G. Jung House Museum) and BeautifulMind Consultants in Kenya, representing Jungian psychology & expressive arts.Before becoming an analyst, I spent many years in social work and counseling with individuals and families involved in international adoption, as well as in clinical psychotherapy, addiction rehabilitation, and counseling settings in Switzerland, the United States and Kenya.<\/p>\n
My life has been shaped by living across continents and cultures. I have spent most of my adulthood\u2014over half my life\u2014abroad, lived in Japan and China, traveled extensively, and have three internationally adopted daughters. These experiences have given me a particular sensitivity to themes of belonging, displacement, attachment, and cultural adaptation;and my analystic diploma thesis explored the orphan archetype and the psychological search for home.k
\nMy particular interests include archetypal psychology and working with dreams, images and active imagination to explore the symbolic and creative expressions of the unconscious. I teach and facilitate dream groups, and central to my personal and analytic work is what it means to live a more ensouled life, making room for imagination, meaning, relationship, the inner world and a deep connection with nature.<\/p>\n
This also informs my approach to the Gifts Compass: I see psychological type not as a way of categorizing people, but as a means of becoming more conscious of how we characteristically move through the world and of capacities waiting to emerge\u2014in service of individuation and a more differentiated relationship with ourselves and others.<\/p>\n
