About Us

Gifts Compass Inc owns the Life Atlas website and created the instruments offered here. We also offer many other resources, including an international network of trained consultants, one-hour debriefings, articles on the Art of Living Well that range from psychology to the environment, webinars, tutorials, podcasts, and training.

Our lead instrument is the Gifts Compass Inventory (GCI), a self-assessment that depicts dispositions for each of Carl Jung’s original 8 psychological types. We do not put people in “personality” categories. Rather we focus on the unique development of personality.

The Gifts Compass Inventory (GCI) was created over a long, thorough process of research into Jung’s original type model and its important relationship to depth psychology. The GCI has been meticulously researched and rigorously validated for both content and construct validity by experts in type theory and statistical analysis.

The GGI has been in use by psychologists and their clients on five continents for over a decade through our other website, www.GiftsCompass.com. In 2020 we opened the Life Atlas website to invite the public to use our instruments and to gain a greater understanding of living a life centered in personal development—what Carl Jung termed individuation.

The people most familiar with Carl Jung’s model are Jungian analystsprofessional practitioners who study Jung’s Analytical Psychology in institutes around the world. This is what two of the leaders of the International Association of Analytical Psychology had to say about our work:

Gifts Compass has the outstanding merit of staying close to Jung’s original intention of linking psychological type theory to the individuation process. It is a brilliant contribution to the field of typological theory and practice. Of all the attempts to apply psychological type theory to models of counseling and coaching, this is by far the best.

Murray Stein, Ph.D., Diplomate Jungian Analyst, Switzerland/U.S. Author of Jung’s Map of the Soul, former President of the International Association of Analytical Psychology, former President of the International School of Analytical Psychology.

Gifts Compass provides a highly developed and theoretically well-founded tool that allows for an understanding of typology which is far more accurate than other typology models. . . . Especially the link to Jung’s theories of the individuation process provides a dynamic model which is highly useful when considering developmental processes.

Misser Berg, Diplomate Jungian Analyst, Denmark. Vice-President of the International Association for Analytical Psychology. Director of Training at the C.G. Jung Institute, Copenhagen.
